RVA Testing Psychologist

Dedicated to helping individuals & families with their testing needs

Wondering where to go for psych testing?

Well, I’ve got you covered!

Hi, I’m Lee Ridens. I’m a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist who works with children and adults who are experiencing learning differences, difficulties with executive functioning, and general feelings of overwhelm in life (i.e., anxiety, depression, etc.) The most rewarding thing about being a Licensed Clinical Psychologist is knowing that I can make a difference in people’s lives. My goal is to help stop the feelings of frustration and confusion and facilitate growth towards positive life outcomes.

As a testing psychologist, I work with individuals and families to help create a clearer picture of presenting behaviors, thoughts, feelings, emotions, and cognitions. This picture helps to guide individuals moving forward in a way that helps them live their best lives. How do I make a difference? I share my knowledge about the brain in a way that helps people understand they aren’t broken. I have a natural ability to understand people’s experiences, help people feel comfortable, and be flexible on their path of discovery. I enjoy the process of collaborating with people to set goals and help them reach them.

Are my child’s learning differences developmentally appropriate or is there a diagnosable area of concern? Are there struggles with reading information quickly and understanding what has been read? Let testing provide you with answers to these questions and determine the need for accommodations for yourself or for your child.

Not all developmental milestones are met on time or within age-appropriate timelines. Not sure what is neurotypical and what is not? Let testing guide your concerns towards appropriate interventions and recommendations for services.

Need help explaining a new diagnosis to your child (strengths, challenges, and
everything in between)? Through personalized visuals, feedback fables, and metaphors, I
will spend time with your child helping them understand how their brain works and
explaining specific strategies they can use to address their “road blocks.”

In children, irritability and anger outbursts can often be the result of anxiety and/or depression. They cannot often tell you how they feel, so they “show you.” Let testing inform your best next steps for intervention and treatment.
